CI Gluticide 15 – Glutaraldehyde Microbiocide for Water Systems

Glutaraldehyde microbiocide for slime, SRB, and algae in recirculating cooling and process water systems.

Registered microbiocide (PCP #31043) based on 15% glutaraldehyde for control of slime-forming bacteria, sulfate-reducing bacteria, and algae in open recirculating cooling water, air washers, industrial scrubbing systems, service water, and heat-transfer systems including evaporative condensers, hydrostatic sterilizers and retorts, and pasteurizers. Designed for programs that need two separate operating modes: slug-dose cleanup when a system is already fouled, and continuous maintenance feed once control has been established. This is the microbiological cleanup and control product for systems where biofouling is real. It does not replace the cooling water compound; it runs beside it whenever bacterial slime, SRB-driven underdeposit corrosion pressure, or algae growth are part of the problem.

Technical Properties

CI Gluticide 15

Registered glutaraldehyde microbiocide for recirculating cooling and process water systems where slime-forming bacteria, sulfate-reducing bacteria, and algae are real operating problems. Built for both slug-dose cleanup of fouled systems and continuous-feed maintenance once biological control has been established.

Operational Notes
• This is the microbiological cleanup and control product for systems where biofouling is already a live issue, not just a theoretical one
• Slug dosing is the right lane when the system is noticeably fouled and a maintenance-only approach will be too weak
• Once control is evident, the program steps down into lower maintenance dosing rather than staying at cleanup intensity
• The sheet expressly warns that badly fouled systems should be cleaned before treatment begins
• Distinct from CI B-10: B-10 is the simpler fast-acting bronopol shock biocide, while Gluticide 15 is the broader microbiological control product with explicit foul-system cleanup and maintenance modes
• Does not replace the cooling water compound; it runs beside the scale-and-corrosion program whenever slime, SRB activity, or algae are part of the operating problem

Practical Fit
CI Gluticide 15 belongs in recirculating cooling and process water systems where biological fouling is already affecting performance or clearly trending that way. It is the glutaraldehyde microbiocide for programs that need both a real cleanup mode and a steady maintenance mode, while the cooling water compound continues handling scale and corrosion.
